A collection of music videos featuring English songs composed and performed by Jin Soda
Jin Soda is a pseudonym used by writer and composer Yoshimitsu Takuki; he primarily uses it for song credits dating back to around 2009 and as his stage name when performing as an EWI player.
Consequently, the composer credits for the older songs listed here (those written when he was in his 20s and 30s) remain under Yoshimitsu Takuki’s name.
Two Note Waltz
This song was written in my schooldays (late in 1970's).
The verse is composed with only TWO notes (in this version, B and A).
Mistaken Lover (Acrostic)
Fifty years ago, I wrote a song about heartbreak. Now, past seventy, I've added English lyrics to it.
The naive, misguided feelings of a twenty-year-old youth—
Having lived over seventy years, I hope to preserve them in this form, however embarrassing it may be.
Homework -on my 70th birthday-
What “homework” do I have to do now that I've lived 70 years?
Orca's Song
I wrote this song about 33 years ago (in 1992). I started learning guitar from Do-Re-Mi-Fa at age 37.
I learned chords commonly used in jazz, like m11 and half-diminished (m7-5), and this melody emerged as I mixed and arranged them almost randomly.
I wrote this song shortly after I started learning guitar at the age of 37. It began as an instrumental guitar piece, but later, I asked Midori Chino, a senior at my university, to write English lyrics for it.
Lonely Sunday
I composed this song in 1977or so.
Midori Chino was my 1 year senior in university and became a translator.
She translated Agatha Christie's works and Lucy Maud Montgomery's 'Anne of Green Gables' series.
Ms Chino and I are over 70 now. I hope this song to live long after our death.
Winter Song
I wrote this song in 2020 when I was 65, and now that I'm 70, I play it with just one guitar.
God Bless Us All With Love (Christmas in Nikko 2017)
